

Sure, the clues were there, but many were so tiny and obscure that guessing their significance was well beyond me! And besides, they weren't "hidden" in the usual sense - they were just part of the picture, to be noticed or not as the reader was able.Īt the end of the book there is a final mystery, which involves counting the number of fish in each illustration and using that to determine who sent the detective the invitation to the party. While I did enjoy reading the story and spotting the more obvious clues, I was a bit disappointed that there weren't more Things To Find in the illustrations. It's a solve-it-yourself mystery with clues sprinkled through the text and illustrations.

I really enjoyed Adshead's Puzzle Island, and wanted more got this slightly-battered hardcover from Better World Books.
